Here we have a beautiful English Flat Bottom Kettle made by T&C Clark Co. This piece is a true testament to the craftsmanship and quality of Antique Cast Iron Cookware. Enameled interior is in incredible condition for the age; common chipping around the top rim. Perfect kettle for use, display, or gifting. T. & C. Clark & Company Limited, based at Shakespeare Foundry, was founded in 1795 by Thomas and Charles Clark, and grew to be one of the largest iron foundries in Wolverhampton. Charles Clerk became mayor of Wolverhampton in 1860 after being a member of the Corporation since its formation as a municipal body. He became a Councillor, Alderman, and later Chief Magistrate The company’s product range included thousands of items, both domestic and industrial. T. & C. Clark pioneered the use of enameled cast iron cookware, after taking out a patent in 1839. It was guaranteed to be free of lead or arsenic. The company went out of business in the mid 1960’s. Cleaned and Seasoned, ready to display, use, or gift! No cracks, rust, or repairs. This pot does rock on a flat surface, due to the gatemark on the bottom. Unlike today’s cookware, this piece will literally last a lifetime.
