For 60 years, Andrée Jardin has been making beautiful wood brushes in Brittany, France. Jardin’s husband, George-René Julio, was an apprentice to a brush-maker in Nantes and with his know-how, the pair opened up their factory in 1947. We love that they’ve maintained their traditional beauty while incorporating modern, whimsical design touches. Take this wood bath brush, for example. Let’s be honest: The older we get, the harder it is to scrub every last inch of our backs in the bath. Get a little help from this long-handled brush, hand-crafted from French wood (the darker ash or the lighter beech, your choice) and treated with high heat for extra durability and resistance to humidity. The silk bristles are soft and pliable on one side (for your softer side) and firm on the other (for a good exfoliating scrub). It’s just the sort of elegance and practicality a countryside grandmère would appreciate. Choose from a set of 2 bath brushes without handle or one single brush with handle.
