12 Tips for a Clean House Without Cleaning all Day - The Organized Chick

Don’t let dishes pile up in the sink! The higher the stack gets the less you will want to tackle it. Get the dishes in the dishwasher, and run it as soon as it’s full so that it saves you more time. When you see something that needs to be done, do it now! Don’t think, “Oh, I’ll do that this weekend” because you most likely won’t get around to it. Just take a little time to do it right when you see it needs to be done. Don’t make shopping a sport. Every time you shop you will end up finding things you “need” and your list of things to buy grows and grows. If you buy less stuff, you will have less to clean. Have your family members pitch in to help clean. The more hands you have helping, the less amount of time you will take to clean every day. Make a cleaning schedule that will help you do just a little bit of cleaning each day! It’s way easier to just clean up a little daily than it is to set aside a huge chunk of time to do it all in one day. Set a timer! This works really well. You will be amazed at how much cleaning you can get done if you just set a short timer and clean quickly in that small amount of time. Get rid of stuff that you don’t need! Toss it out, recycle it, or donate it. Getting rid of clutter will make your house look cleaner and also make it easier to clean in the future. Make your bed. If you accomplish nothing else in the day but make your bed, then it wasn’t a bad day. A made bed always looks nicer and feels good at the end of the day! Multitask so that you can clean a lot in a short amount of time. While a load of laundry is going, use that time to clean up in other areas around the house. Wipe down your countertops and surfaces every day. This will make your home look so much cleaner without taking up a ton of time. If you have stuff on your counters it will make them look much messier than they actually are. Remember that it’s ok to keep one junk drawer! If you are cleaning in a hurry, or people are coming over, or you just don’t know what to do with random nick-nacks, throw them in your drawer and get back to them later. Use quick cleaning products like Swiffer mops or Clorox wipes. These inventions help you get things clean quickly! Although it may be better to use other products for a deep clean, using these until you find the time to deep clean are better than not cleaning at all.
